Matachewan First Nation hosted its Annual Pow Wow with a record turnout of over 400 participants, visitors, dancers, singers, and drummers. The event was held over two bright, sunny days on Saturday, August 29, and Sunday, August 30.

“We were so happy to see the number of people that came out to our event this year. We are thankful to the organizers of this year’s Pow Wow and we are grateful to the amazing performers, the drummers and the dancers who came out. It’s important for us to hold these gatherings for our people as it is a way for us to celebrate our community, our culture and our history,” said Chief Alex ‘Sonny’ Batisse, Matachewan FN.
